We had the best time and a great show at Forestedge Winery near Laporte, MN last weekend. The setting is beautiful. On a sunny afternoon, surrounded by the woods, vegetable gardens, bright flower beds and the buildings of the winery complex, we set up our tent and staged our display. It was great to see Sharon, Paul, & John from the winery again, as well our fellow vendors. There is such an amazing array of talent in this group of artists! We love catching up on news and seeing new work.
Both Saturday and Sunday the weather was perfect for people coming out to taste wine & explore the art fair. Attendance was super. We showcased Don's new shibuichi earrings, bracelets and pendants, and we were so happy with the response. This line will be a fine addition to the rest of our metal, wire and beaded jewelry. We also got word that next year, Gypsie will be joining us as part of the show!

Such interesting people stopped at our booth: a chemistry professor from Iowa State University, an amazing bronze sculptor named Roger Loyson who lives near Bemidji, and customers with lots of questions about our work who were just plain fun! Once again, Don and I were reminded why this is one of our very favorite shows of the year.
Other final highlights included: the small black bear which ran across the road in front of our van; the relaxing and fun evenings at the lake cabin of our friends, Mark & Julie Berg; the delicious meal which Sharon provides for all of the vendors on Saturday evening; the discussion of books with members of the local book club; and (have I mentioned!) the wine tasting.

We came home tired, but renewed in spirit, and anxious to get back to our studios.
