As a student at Henry Ford’s Greenfield Village Schools, I became enamored with the wall sconces in the historic classrooms and buildings. Some were very ornate and artistic although they shed very little light. In my sconces, I attempt to capture this artistic element while adding a soothing glow as the candle light is reflected off the polished copper & brass through amber mica.
My semi-abstract sculptures hopefully capture the essence of my ideas by combining the complementary elements of copper, wood, bamboo and stone. If I’m able to titillate the viewer’s thought process... I hope they enjoy the experience.
